About Evidence Monitoring & Evaluation
Young Lives India is a non-partisan institution dedicated towards conducting high quality evaluations. We pride ourselves on our ability to undertake ‘credible evaluations with strict regard to research rigour and impartiality in our observations’. The central principles that guided and shaped the approach to this practice group have been ‘usefulness, credibility and independence’.
One of the objectives of Young Lives India which finds prominence in our organisation is to ‘Undertake monitoring and evaluation to assess the effectiveness and scalability of interventions by Governmental and non-governmental organisations and use the evidence to design effective programming’. To this effect, Young Lives India uptakes projects that review and/ or evaluate programs at conceptualization, implementation and closure stage.
On a macro scale, Young Lives India has taken up evaluations related to government schemes such as Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and Young Lives India staff has been nominated on a regular basis to be part of several Joint Review Missions, Government of India to evaluate implementation of Government Schemes.
Young Lives India is dedicated towards conducting high-quality independent research and evidence generation that aims to influence policy discourse and programming for the most marginalized children, adolescents, and youth. Young Lives India themes are aligned to key SDGs to reinforce its central argument that inclusive policies – of leaving ‘no one behind’ – are vital for ensuring healthy, productive, equitable, and just society, thereby breaking the inter-generational transmission of poverty.
